The technology man  always needs to know the chip you want to remove or reballing with BGA rework station .Generally speaking :

The max tempertature of lead rework is approximately 183

Reflow temp:185-190degree , Reflow time: 10 Second

For lead free rework is approximately 217degree

Reflow temp:220-225degree , Reflow time: 15 Second

how to find out the chip you need repair is lead or lead free before you repairing it ?

For intel chip in Southbridge area of board ,if chip model head is “FW” it must be lead chip ,such as FW82801DBM    if it is “NH” head of chip ,it must be lead free chip such as nh82801DBM

In northbridge area of board ,if chip model head is “RG” it must be lead chip ,such as RG82855GM

If chip model head is “NQ ” must be lead free ,such as NQ82915PM

For NVIDIA chip ,if the chip model including the “N” ,it must be lead free chip such as “GO7300-n-A2” 

For AMD ATI chip ,the second line model number if including “G “ it must be lead chip ,if without G ,it must be lead free chip ,such as “218S4RBSA12G”
